Swetang Patel, MD
Dr. Swetang Patel is certified by the American board of Family Medicine and has over 23 years of clinical and medical field experience. Dr. Patel established Swetang Patel MD, PA in 2008. Dr. Patel grew up in India were he attend and graduated from Maharaj Sayajirao University of Baroda Medical College in Baroda, India. Dr. Patel has practiced medicine in Michigan, New York and India. Dr. Patel has a lifelong passion for sport and physical activity. He enjoys physical fitness, reading, and watching sports. He is married and has 2 children. Dr. Patel is a strong believer in preventive medicine and lifestyle modification.
Stephanie J. Ballard PA-C
Ms. Stephanie Trent is a Physician Assistant who joined the practice in February of 2014. Stephanie is a native of West Jefferson, NC in the northwestern part of the state. She graduated from Ashe County High School in 2005. After graduating high school she ventured to Wilmington, NC to attend UNC-Wilmington. She attained a Bachelor of Science in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry. After her undergraduate degree she began working as an EMT-Intermediate in Leland, NC. She then attended Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC where she obtained her Masters of Medical Science and graduated in December of 2013.
Currently she resides in Leland, NC with her 3 dogs: Angus, Abbie and Juno. An outdoor enthusiast at heart, she enjoys hiking, kayaking and running in her spare time.
Lauren Ambrose PA-C
Lauren Singletary Ambrose grew up in Jacksonville. She attended Clyde Erwin Elementary, New Bridge Middle and Jacksonville High School. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from UNC Chapel Hill. She then received her Masters of Science in Microbiology from UNCW where she did research with viruses. She worked on the surgical oncology ward at the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital before earning her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from South University in Savannah, Georgia. Lauren has always wanted to work in family practice because she enjoys treating multiple generations. After graduation, Lauren joined the practice of Swetang Patel, MD PA. Lauren enjoys traveling, hiking, and playing with her 2 dogs. She and her husband Andrew are happy to have moved back home to be of service to the community where they both were raised.

I was born in Jacksonville but have spent some time living in Chicago, IL.
I am a mother of three boys. Whom one is serving our country in the United States Navy. One is pursuing his degree in Accounting at Eastern Kentucky University. And one is a
senior at Jacksonville High School (Future Tar Heel). My life is extremely busy keeping track of their schedules. When I get free time, I enjoy running, shopping, going to the beach, and traveling. If I may be of assisting to you feel free to contact the office.
